The Vello LHC-EW53 Dedicated Lens Hood is compatible with the Canon EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lens and Canon RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM lens. It is used to shade the front element of the lens to prevent lens flare, which improves image quality and contrast. The hood mounts to the lens via its bayonet mount, and it also mounts in the reverse for compactness and storage. While mounted, it protects the lens from accidental impact.
