NiSi 150mm System Starter Kit Second Generation II

This 150mm System Starter Kit Second Generation II from NiSi contains three filters that are compatible with filter holders that can accept 150mm wide, 2mm thick filters. They can be used individually or in various combinations to improve the results of your photography. Included are two neutral density filters that can be used to create a darkening of the entire image and a medium-edge graduated neutral density filter, which prevents overexposure in specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image.

Constructed from optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity, these filters have been optimized for use with digital sensors and to promote nearly flat attenuation of visible and infrared light. Due to imaging sensors greater susceptibility to infrared light compared to traditional film, color casts can occur when photographing darker subjects that require increased exposure times. To provide neutrality across the visible and infrared spectrums in order to eliminate color casts and ensure cleaner, truer blacks, one layer of NiSi Optical Nano Coating is applied to each of these filters surfaces. The Nano coating associated with this filter also results in an improved beading effect when in contact with water or oil for greater cleaning efficiency.

A filter brush is provided for cleaning and maintenance of the filters, as well as padded pouch for storage and transport.

NiSi 150 x 150mm Nano IRND 1.8 Filter (6-Stop)

• Darkens bright areas of an image, such as skies, while leaving the remainder of the frame unaffected
• 8x filter factor provides up to a 3-stop reduction of light in selective areas
• Medium-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas
• Useful for images that include elements like rooftops and mountains that protrude into the sky
