The IRND design of this filter has been optimized for use with digital sensors, and works to attenuate both visible and infrared light. Digital image sensors are more sensitive to a greater range of light spectra, and as such are prone to color shifts or casts when photographing darker subjects or scenes that require increased exposure times. This filter s unique design helps to suppress false colors for greater neutrality and faithful color reproduction.
This filter is constructed from Water White glass and is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and mounting to precision metal rings.
