easyCover Cover for Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM Lens (Black)

I didn't think this one through. Water resistant is utterly meaningless because the cover is made of EIGHT separate pieces, each covering a part of the lens that is solid--every one of the places where rain could seep in is just as vulnerable with the cover on as without it. Because it's in so many pieces, each one just barely tight enough, using the zoom and focus wheels feels off, and just picking up the camera, the pieces move a bit. And the pieces were not manufactured with any precision--some of the edges were cut just unevenly enough to give it a very sloppy, cheap appearance even before the pieces shift around with use. Before buying, I'd specifically asked a question in the product Q&A--whether the zoom worked with the cover--and was assured by a staff person that yes, it did, but NO, it does not. That section of the cover is easily removed with velcro, but how many birds sit around while you unhook noisy velcro?
