LensCoat Lens Cover for Nikon 24-120 f/3.5-5.6 AF-S VR Lens (Black)

I needed protection for my 24-120 zoom lens and thought this would provide it. It turned out to be more trouble than it was worth. The cover comes as four separate pieces designed to cover the lens hood, zoom ring, focus scale ring and the focus ring. The pieces are elastic bands covered in a thin textured cloth. Installing the different bands was fairly easy but they did tend to slide out of position as the zoom and focus was used. In particular, the focus scale and focus ring bands rubbed together and made it almost impossible to manually focus the lens. The focus scale band tended to shift on the lens hiding the lens's focus window. All these factors made the protection afforded by the bands interfere with using the lens. The only band I use is the one one over the zoom ring. I did not try the lens hood band as I was too disappointed with the cover overall to care whether or not it would work. I found this accessory to be a waste of money.
