FUJIFILM View Camera Adapter G

Excellent quality! It works perfectly on my Linhof Master Technika, Toyo VX125, Wista and Ebony, the widest lens can be used is limited to 110mm, I have no problem to focus infinity on my super Symmar XL 110mm.

PROs 1. The interior of the adapter is baffled with a small sprial groove for its entire length. It is also painted matte, flat black. The PhotodioX is not baffled and is a shiny black perhaps creating some flare issues. 2. The adapter interior is a cone and is almost an inch wider on the lens side than the Photodiox. 3. The adapter is also about 3/8 shorter than the PhotodioX. 4. Because of 2) 3) the adapter accomodates wider lenses than the PhotodioX, portentially reducing the number of shots in a panorama. CONs 1. No locks btw the detents either on rotation or the horizontal slider. 2. It costs twice as much as the PhotodioX. My Decision I went with the Fujifilm adapter because of it ability to use wider lenses and because it will be less likely to have flare issue. Overall its quality is more consistent with the GFX camera. SFO Alan

I never write reviews but wanted to write one bc i bought this on a whim thinking there was a good chance it would suck. It is really cool and exciting and very usable. build quality is great, my 150mm lens feels pretty long but still nice, a 110mm might be ideal for this, I think a 90mm wouldn't work because of how close to the camera the lens must be positioned to focus at infinity for this setup. Huge potential for tabletop/still life work, as there are lots of room with bellows. The shift slide on the back to make a multiple image stitch is really cool. I'm of the belief that digital lenses are a little too sharp, in a way thats jarring to me and this looks really right, especially when you can pull in a line of focus. Cool thing is you can essentially shoot this handheld as you can see right through the camera and you use the shutter in the camera. Really exciting to use some older sturdy equipment in a new way.

I prefer to use this on my Graphic View Camera II vs my 5x4 field camera because of the additional movements on both the front and rear elements. I could only use lenses that are 135mm and up since the camera position is too far back from the 5x4 focus screen. So your bellows squeezes in too close together for any real functionality. I find this product better than the other competitors because it is well made and not just a stitch adapter but more of a studio tool when shooting studio/product photography. When in the field it has its advantages with trying to straight out buildings in camera vs trying to do it in post. There are youtube videos on large format camera movements to help with novice shooters. I fortunately also shoot 5x4 film so it is another tool for my kit that takes advantage of digital photography for in studio commercial work.
