The Mavolux 5032C from Gossen is a handy, easy to use, highly accurate light meter capable of measuring illumination in either footcandles or lux. Candelas/mA² and footlamberts can also be measured with the use of an optional luminance attachment. This highly precise meter is equipped with color correction for a spectral response that is matched to that of the human eye, in accordance with DIN 5032, part 7, class C. Integrated cosine correction is included to assure that oblique incident light is also evaluated correctly.
Digital lux meters and footcandle meters can be used for industry, trade, architecture, institutes, inspection authorities, and for photographic and film studios. Either Lux or footcandles can be selected as a measured quantity, and the measuring range is matched automatically to the measured quantity. The measuring range can be locked by pressing a key, or any one of four measuring ranges can be selected manually.
The USB interface allows the Mavolux 5032C to directly interface with a computer with the included GLUX 2 software and to power the meter for constant operation.
Automatic/Manual Measuring Range Selection
Either Lux or footcandles can be selected as a measured quantity format. The measuring range is matched automatically to the measured quantity.
Measurement Options
Footcandles
Lux
Candelas/m2 (with optional luminance attachment)
Footlamberts (with optional luminance attachment)
Computer-Aided Measurement
Continuous operating mode is supported by power supplied via the USB port. Meter control, as well as reading, display and storage of measured values, is managed with the included GLUX 2 software.
Hold Function
A current measurement value can be held at the display by pressing the data hold key.
Max Function
The largest measurement value which occurs in this mode is stored to memory in order to determine maximum illuminance or luminance.
Non-Volatile Memory
100 measured values can be saved, retrieved or transmitted to a computer via the integrated USB port, allowing average illuminance values can also be calculated.
Cosine Correction
The luminosity of a flat measuring surface is proportional to the cosine of the incident angle of light. This relationship is corrected for by the sensor during evaluation.
Compliance
DIN 5032/T7
CIE no. 69
