Voigtlander VC Speed Meter II (Silver)

Being a vintage film camera user, I've found this nice little Voigtlander VC meter to be the perfect purchase for me. Many of my old cameras do not have a built-in light meter so the use of a hand-held meter was necessary, or, the use of a light meter app on my smartphone. This little meter solves that problem and sits nicely right on top of the camera for convenient use. I've shot 3 rolls of B&W film and several 4x5 sheets using the readings from this meter and they have been spot on. I've checked the meter readings against my digital Olympus camera and they coincide exactly. This meter is one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. I should note that while it fits the cold shoe on most of my cameras, it does not fit my Zorki C rangefinder or my TLR cameras with a knob located under the cold shoe. In those cases it easily can be carried in a pocket. I've included a photo of the VC meter attached to my Mamiya 6 Automat.

I chose this over a handheld meter with the idea that it would stay put in the hotshoe. However, it is too small for the hotshoe of every camera I've tried (Praktica, Yashica 635). It does not click in securely the way a flash does, because it lacks springs or click tabs. I had to add shims made of masking tape, and the VC meter still slipped out, so eventually I used foam tape. A clunky solution for an item that should fit better by default. I also wish the apertures clicked.
