Hoodman Glasses Model HoodEYE Eyecup for Nikon Z8 and Z9 Models

So happy I found this. This fits the Z8 perfectly and I can now see through the finder so much better in bright light. Recommend it to anyone who wears glasses when shooting.

I'm a longtime user of the Hoodman Eyecups. I prefer the glasses version for more coverage. I have the Hoodman eyecups for my D850, Z6, Z7ii and tried it with my Z8. With the Z8 for some reason the eyecup does not lock into place well enough. I had it fall off at least a half dozen times and lost two eyecups in less than 60 days. I'm a nature and sports photographer so the camera is used when I'm active. This item - for the Z8 is the only time I've had a problem with the Hoodman Eyecup. After losing two Hoodman Eyecups, I ended up going with a different vendor for a similar product. It's been fine and has not fallen off a single time in six months of use. I do recommend other Hoodman products, but not the Eyecup with Glasses for the Z8.

I am often photographing in the desert where glare and wind are a problem. I also wear glasses. The HoodEYE for people with glasses has made photography under these conditions so much easier. I can stay focused on the image without distractions. I also like that the eyecup is for left or right eyed people.

Works just as expected, makes it much easier to see through the viewfinder with light coming from the side. Folds flat to make it easy to but the camera in the bag.

Unfortunately the eyepiece that Nikon put on the Z8 was apparently not designed for eyeglass users like me. On a sunny day, the light frequently manages to slip in from the side and reflect off my glasses. This product looked like a good solution and indeed it worked...but. The eyepiece was supposed to fit into the Nikon mount and then be rotated till it clicked into place, just like the original eyecup. Unfortunately it never could be rotated far enough to click. Instead it's only the pressure of the mounting that holds it in place. From time to time, especially when putting my camera in or taking it out of my camera bag, it loosens and comes off. So far I've been able to keep track of it, but I'm certain I will eventually lose it. Since there are no similar devices for me to try I keep using it. I'm like Woody Allen who wouldn't cure his brother who believed he was a chicken because I need the eggs.
