Leica Viewfinder Magnifier 1.4x for M Cameras

The Overview on the product webpage starts with the sentence The Leica Viewfinder Magnifier M 1.4x is a small and practical accessory for all Leica M rangefinder cameras. This is incorrect. Later in the same Overview, a sentence reads ...with most M-series cameras..... This is correct, as explained in the answer to Q&A question number five about whether it will work with the M10. The answer Yes it will but you have to purchase an additional Leica adapter is accurate. Thus, the corresponding table in the Compatible section of the product description showing that this product is compatible with the M10 and M10P is deceiving since compatibility requires the purchase of an adapter at the cost of an additional 95 for a total price of 480 USD, if one wants to use the magnifier with an M10 or M10P. Even according to the widely-tolerated Leica overpriced scale, this is ludicrous. The adapter is a tiny 1-2 mm threaded ring that might cost Leica, at most, maybe two bucks. Not simply including the adapter in the package with the magnifier itself, or gratis on request, just shows (at least to me) Leica's distain for its customers. But, you may ask, does the magnifier work? Yes, the magnifier works, but the gain is marginal subjectively tested with several Leica lenses. Calculating gain/dollar, marginal is a generous description, at best, of the practical advantage to the photographer. Moreover, (at least subjectively to me), the viewfinder image is not quite as sharp-edged crisp using the magnifier as it is through the original viewfinder used without the magnifier. Thus, a marginal magnification benefit is offset by a possible image deterioration. In other words, the practical net gain in to the photographer in routine use on the street approaches zero. I am not adverse to spending money on Leica products as I have done in the past, but this duo (magnifier and adaptor ring) at nearly 500 is beyond even my relatively relaxed tolerance.
