Letus35 Hawk Viewfinder for Nikon D800 (Aluminum)
The Hawk Viewfinder for Nikon D800 (Aluminum) from Letus allows you to view the image on your camera s LCD display through a high-quality optical viewfinder with 2.75x magnification, providing a large, bright image for better focus and composition when shooting HD video. It s designed for use with the Nikon D800 DSLR camera, but can be used with other models and brands via adapters and adjustments.
The Hawk viewfinder is completely custom designed by Letus35, and rather than using a single, run-of-the-mill diopter they opted to instead create one using 3 lenses in 2 groups. This creates a completely flat image with no warping or loss of sharpness on the edges of the image. The lens is adjustable from +1.5 to -2.5 to accommodate near- and far-sighted users.
The Hawk attaches to your DSLR without any modifications to the camera, and it includes a camera plate as a standard feature. The plate threads into the tripod mounting hole on the bottom of your camera and is adjustable in X, Y, and Z directions (near or far, left or right, and up or down) for compatibility with a full range of current and future DSLR cameras. The plate is threaded on the bottom so you can attach your existing quick release tripod plates, base plates, among others.
You also have the option of mounting the Hawk using any articulating arm if you would like. This allows you to have nearly unlimited mounting options for situations where standard mounting is difficult or impossible. An optional micro articulating arm custom-milled from stainless steel is available and sold separately.
The optics are fully coated with the same anti-fogging coatings used in the Letus35 relay lenses and 35mm adapters, for the best color fidelity while eliminating issues with fogging.
Afull range of optional Talon support rod systems include a quick release camera plate to take the place of the standard Hawk camera plate. This upgraded plate allows you to choose whether the Hawk viewfinder stays attached to your camera, or to the Talon support rods. With this configuration you can leave the Hawk on the support rods and quickly release your camera for taking still images through the DSLR s standard viewfinder. This is a great feature for those who need to switch from video to stills quickly.
