SmallRig Sunhood for Sony a7S III/a7C/ZV-1/FX3 Camera

This is a nice reasonably priced add on for the almost useless flip LED on these series of camera. Makes using in bright day light almost possible.

This works pretty well outside. Unfortunately, the FX3 screen is also like a mirror, so even after the glare is removed, I see a clear reflection of myself on the screen.

It fits perfectly and folds up well for storage when not in use. If feels well made and looks to be made to last. It is deep and shields the screen from ambient light very nicely.

This isn't the world's best sunhood, but it's a great piece of equipment to have around. It's made of a flexible, faux-leather material which weighs very little and packs easily. I use this on my FX3. Great to have outdoors for gimbal use. One important thing to keep in mind - it doesn't work with the screen folded against the body, it has to be folded out. Bit of a con, as you have to account for this when balancing AND ensure you have a gimbal that gives clearance. It's ok for vlogging - you can use it with the screen facing forward, but you have to take it off and remount it. You can't just swivel and get the hood in the right orientation. Overall, it's better to have than not. Previous solutions were to fly blind or mount an external monitor. This helps make the screen more visible (not a miracle worker) and it's easy to keep on hand. If you're run-n-gun with a lot of gimbal work, you should have this as part of your toolkit.
