Panasonic DMW-SHGR1 Tripod Grip

I bought this to use with a Lumix G85. I was attracted to this grip because I wanted to be able to turn the video on and off without having to hunt for the recessed video button on top of the camera. When I first tried it, the shutter button worked, but not the video. I spent about an hour searching through the menus on the camera to see if I missed a setting. When I finally called , a product specialist advised that a firmware update for the camera was available. After installing the update, the shutter release and video control worked fine...but. There is also a third button to put the camera into sleep mode. Even with the firmware update, that control appears not to be functioning. So, almost all works. If you just want a mini grip/tripod and don't need the shutter release and video button, this product is ridiculously over priced at .100.00. has dozens of other mini-tripods for a fraction of the price. I'd look at a joby, or the Manfrotto PIXI Mini at .17.00, or PIXI Evo for .38.00 If there were half stars, I would say 2-1/2 stars rather than 3.
