Canon PZ-E2B Power Zoom Adapter

This thing is just a mess. I waited nearly 7 months to get this after I ordered. It is serial number 4, so that gives you an idea of how unpopular it is. It attaches to the side of the lens with three thumbscrews. There is an added thumbrest that is screwed in underneath with a hex bolt. I do not understand the purpose of the thumb rest - it does not seem to serve any purpose and there was no mention of it in the instructions.The buttons on the unit are tiny and are not pressure sensitive. I can see this as a normal thing for €300 lens, but not for a €3000 lens. Why they thought a simple button to control the zoom would be appropriate on a €1200 controller makes my mind blow. Yes, you can add a 20-pin zoom rocker, but there is no clear way to mount it unless you go with a whole rig. And at that point, better off using a myriad of other exponentially cheaper and better designed devices that mate to the gears on the lens.I feel like Canon does this kind of thing a lot with add-ons. They make a great lens or body, but the optional accessories are substantially delayed, extremely poorly thought out, and eye-wateringly expensive.This is getting boxed up and shipped back to right away. You will probably get serial number 4 too if you decide to buy it!
