Kirk Camera Plate for Canon EOS R5 and R6 Digital Cameras

If you don't do many portraits, this is a great quick release plate for an EOS R6 or EOS R6 II. L-brackets for these cameras restrict access to mic and USB(C) terminals and terminal covers and restrict the full articulation of the screen.

This plate fits my R5 beautifully. And it's not in the way of anything so I can keep it on my camera forever. My carrying strap attaches to the plate beautifully when not using a tripod. I'm thankful for the great engineering of this accessory.

This is my second one, for the R5 I just recently purchased (I also have an R6). It's a great plate that fits precisely and feels like part of the camera. It adds a few connection points that you might or might not need or use, but they don't add up bulk or affect how streamlined this plate is. Once on the camera, this plate practically never moves (except for underwater photography). In fact, Canon should include a plate like this as part of the basic package, much more useful than the strap or swag that's included. I own several more elaborate brackets, including an L-bracket from RRS, but they just create too many issues for the small benefit of not having to use the tripod head to rotate into portrait mode. The L-brackets, no matter how hard I tried to like them, just make access to the ports difficult and prevent screen from rotating just enough to make them frustrating when you need them the most, taking photos from unusual angles and tripod heights.
