Really Right Stuff L-Plate Set for Olympus OM-D E-M1X

Fits my camera like a glove and love that it comes with an attached Allen wrench via magnet to be able to do adjustments in the field if necessary. I've bought many items from RRS over the years and every one was high quality and worth the money.

I'VE always used an RRS L-plate on my camera bodies. It makes switching from landscape to portrait move exceptionally easy, and centers the camera over the ballhead. You can remove the L portion, or you can order the bottom plate alone. Typical RRS quality, beautifully machined.

Despite what the copy says, the L-bracket absolutely interferes with both port access and the LCD's range of motion. You can slide it out far enough that you can manage to get to the ports with some fiddling but the LCD ALWAYS hits and you won't be able to rotate it with the L-bracket attached. This really won't matter to everyone but it would be nice if RRS was a bit more honest in their descriptions since very few people get to lay hands on these things before buying them. Battery and card doors are truly obstruction-free. Taking the L-bracket off when not in use is super easy but the screw is not captive and bound to get lost if this is something you foresee yourself doing frequently. You'll need to get a little O-ring to put on it to keep it from rolling away--something I think they could have easily done for you at this price. Fabrication work is absolutely stellar. The frame is very rigid and there are no visible tool marks of any kind on any surface. If Olympus made this it'd be .900 for sure.

Works just fine, exactly as described. Love that RRS includes the device to tighten the screws on some of their products. Can't remember how many times I've been out in the field and plates have worked their way loose. Ingenious idea....and so handy.
