SmallRig Bottom Mount Plate for Sony a7C II & a7CR (Silver)

I just purchased an a7CII from BandH and decided to order the SmallRig bottom mount plate. The description states that this bottom mount plate has an opening for the battery access without removing the mount plate. After putting the mount plate on the camera, I tried to open the battery door. You CAN'T! This battery access from this mount plate isn't cut correctly, it's too small, therefore not allowing access to remove the battery without first removing the mount plate.

Bottom plate fits well, is excellent from a quality standpoint and can't beat €30 price. It is, unfortunately not a perfect match to the silver on the camera as shown in the photo. Not a big deal, keeping on my camera as it does make it more comfortable for my larger hands but definitely a shame.Andreas

Great product for a good price. The fit and finish are great. I have RRS plates on all my other cameras and don't see a significant difference in quality in SmallRig's offering.

Have to say I have quickly become a fan of SmallRig. Every item I have purchased from them has been so well conceived and designed. The pricing has been fair and build quality excellent. This is another example of that. It's compact, discreet, keeping the A7C II small which is the reason I purchased one. Having an Arca Swiss plate built into this is brilliant. And access to the battery door is superb. Even the little details like the tool to tighten the screw for this base to the camera is included and well implemented to stay secure. I rarely give 5 stars to a product, as I tend find something the manufacturer 'chose' to omit to keep cost down, but this is a better option in my opinion than the Sony add-on base at a much lower cost. It's pleasure to find a company that makes consistently well-priced, well-made useful products. I will look for SmallRig options whenever possible because my experience has been terrific with their offerings. This Plate is superb.
