The collar clamps around the Novoflex adapter and takes the weight of the lens and adapter off the camera when mounting to a tripod.
The lens collar features both 1/4 -20 and 3/8 -16 threaded mounting holes as well as a mounting plate compatible with most Arca-Swiss style quick release mechanisms. The collar features a rotating ring that allows you to adjust the horizon of your shot.
