The clamp easily locks down by pressing the monoballFix mechanism. The head works on arc movements that keep your camera centered over your tripod, so you never lose your center of axis. Each X and Y axis has +/-15° of micrometric adjustment, which is controlled by two geared telescopic knobs, which pull out if you are using a larger camera and can't reach the knobs.
