This Large Leveling Head II from Linhof is designed to allow a camera to be incrementally rotated on a horizontal axis for capturing a sequence of images that are intended to be aligned and merged into a single panoramic photo. It features a built-in Linhof panorama plate with an integrated Linhof Quickfix I Tripod Connector, which is a panning platform with a cam-lock quick release adapter. The panorama plate with Quickfix I tripod connector provides the ability to rotate a camera 360° according to clearly visible hatch marks engraved at 5° intervals. Depending on which camera and lens is placed on this leveling head, as well as the lens s focal length, those interval hatch marks can be used to ensure that images within a sequence sufficiently overlap to form a panorama.
