Lowepro Photo Active 200 AW Backpack (Blue/Black)

I was excited when I found this bag, I thought it had everything I wanted: light weight, weather resistance, a laptop compartment, a side pocket for a water bottle, extra storage space up top for smaller items, and point(s) to carry a tripod on the outside. Indeed, it does have all of these features, however the execution leaves so much to be desired. First off, the camera divider system is difficult to reconfigure and will not stay attached to the bag for more than a day of use. The front and back panels slide into a tiny bit of fabric to hold them in place, and will frequently come undone from this minimal attachment system. Because of this system, the entire bag is one giant compartment, resulting in anything smaller than a Rode VideoMicro sliding down into the camera compartment - usually to the sides, where it will fall out of your bag upon opening one of those flaps. Speaking of those side flaps, another huge design issue: if you close the compartment by zipping up, you run the risk of a heavy item (i.e., a full water bottle) causing the panel to unzip on its own, which will result in one of your lenses (and the stuff that dropped down from the upper compartment) falling to the ground shortly thereafter. Sadly, I learned this first-hand, though thankfully with a relatively inexpensive lens. At the end of the day, I can't for a second believe that Lowepro actually tested this in the real world. It has so many obvious, fatal flaws that would be impossible not to identify in short order. While I thought Lowepro was a reliable brand, I will most likely look elsewhere for my next bag(s) as I would like to have some level of confidence that it is built, and tested, by people who carry camera gear in the real world, not just in some giant corporate office.
