easyCover Silicone Protection Cover for Canon EOS-1Dx & 1Dx Mark II (Black)

I have one of these covers for my 5D III and it has protected against bumps and scrapes. I purchased this one for my 1DX II for the same protection. I already had an incident where I scratched the top of the mirror box (my neuroses are such that I couldn't stand to look at it so I had it replaced by Canon). In any event, this fits nicely and though it isn't perfect, it works fine. I make slight mods to the cover to suit my needs. It should serve you well for the duration that you own your camera.

As I make this review I have only had the product since yesterday. Took a bit of work to get it on as I didn't want to tear the material. Got someone to hold the camera while I fitted the cover properly. Fits nice and snug so far. No complaints as regards access to controls as everything is well thought out. Back focus button is covered but still functions fine. Can't see why people complain about that. Have had the 1DX 2 for nearly two years and fell and put some scratches on my camera just minutes before installing the cover - typical! Probably would have saved me if it were installed ahead of time. Will undoubtedly prove useful as well when going through the underbrush where the fine branches of trees and shrubs would scratch an unprotected camera body. Access to controls under cold weather conditions will be the real test for me as I often wear gloves in the winter time when photographing raptors etc. Would really like to make a further review in a few months time to give people a better idea on how the product is performing in the field but for now it looks promising and seems to do the job it is intended for. I am only giving it four stars because of the short time that I have had it.

Silicon is durable and definitely protects the camera from scratching. But it does not fit the 1DX/1DX MKII as snug or tight as it should. Most buttons are covered with plastic, so they do not engage quickly. This is not an accessory to be used during sporting events when accuracy and speed are essential.

I like the product and it fits my camera well, but is should be a little grippier. Its a little slippery and it is very hard to press the back button focus

I got these for my 1DXii bodies because because of shooting in the mud at times. They come really snug (tough to get on at first but thats good). I like the feel and you can cut out things you want uncovered. The only downside is it slowly stretches over time and usage and now its getting too loose to use. Not sure thats fixable though.
