easyCover Silicone Protection Cover for Sony Alpha a6500 (Black)

bought this thinking I would only use it during a fishing shoot ... Haven't taken it off yet .. Nice addition!

I like this cover a lot. They could work on the bottom of it a bit though. You have to stretch the cover when attaching to a tripod. I 3d-printing a riser which screws into the tripod mount over the silicon cover and then attach that to the tripod. Works good but took me several hours designing a part to work around this issue. If you only use the camera hand-held, this is a really nice cover. If you're using it with a tripod, you're probably going to want to make some modifications.

I can see how this adds a bit of protection to your camera, but you can't really use a battery grip with it. The silicone necessary to hold the bottom of the cover to the camera is in the way. It is also a little bit problematic with tripods.

Awesome protection for my Sony A6500. My expensive baby deserves the best. This not only is probably some of the best protection, great grip, and yet at a very affordable price. You won't regret purchasing this item.

Somewhat of an underhanded compliment.. I guess these things get harder to engineer the smaller the subject. This is really nice protection for the camera. It feels good, adds to the grippiness of the camera. I just put a tripod plate on it and tightened it against the rubber as it covers the front and rear of the camera and it tightened down nice and snug against the rubber. Because the camera and native lenses are light I don't think this will be an issue. One issue is the thickness of the rubber interfering with the mode dial and top control dial. They are already placed inside a ledge on the top of the camera and the thickness of the rubber only makes these dials a bit less easy to access. Other than that, all buttons seemed to work just fine.. Just get to know them before you put this on because they are not well marked.. black on black.. Protection against bruises looks to be good all around with the most vulnerable side being the back.. They do give you two screen protectors but I didn't like them, air bubbles, and put on a Sony PCK-LM17. It went on perfect and doesn't slow down the touchscreen even though Sony says this is only intended for the A6000 and A6300. Overall. I would recommend this product. It does what it's meant to do, protect the body of these..now... rather expensive cameras.

It's fairly easy to install but the hooks on the side require a bit of finessing to get them through the protector. However, the case is on the loose side and you can definitely feel some play especially in the lower left corner. Also, the knobs on the right side of the camera are partially covered, making them harder to reach. I wish there was a higher-quality alternative as this protective cover is worth only half its price at most.
