Pelican Vault V200 Case with Lid Foam and Dividers (Gray, 12.7L)

Better latch system than standard Pelican cases in that they don't hit your fingers when opening them. The divider system is ok for padding but not good for configuring spaces. It needs one that can go on the short side to divide the case left and right as is it only allows up and down.

I was delighted to receive this case as a gift. I use it for telescope eyepieces and other accessories. But I was disappointed with the foam. The middle layer in the bottom of the case was too small--it didn't fill the case wall-to-wall. I thought it was an error, so I returned it for an exchange, which had the same issue. Imagine trying to keep alignment between two pieces of foam of different sizes while cutting them to fit your parts. I contacted Pelican (not easy to do), who eventually (after many attempts) sent me a set of replacement foam and expressed appreciation for alerting them to this issue. Today, foam is cut, parts are inside, and all is good. I wonder who approved the small foam and why.

Took out separators. open space for: My M_ mount lenses_28mm, 50mm stashed each in a Lowe Pro 7 X 13cm ZIPPED CASES, and Leica Monochrome with mounted 35 1.4 VOIGHTLANDER also in a Zipped lower Pro case one size up. They are protected from dust and easy to take out and throw in a backpack this way, unexposed to the dirt and moisture. There is room for one more Leica or Sony a7V Body with pancake lens(uncased) The smaller case is great, it will go into a backpack also. Flying lite. protected with hard shell, and the Lowel zipper case are the best protection.... got it all !!!

The new button-latch configuration from older Pelican boxes is really great. Boxes are very sturdy and blow-resistant. Highly recommend. Pelican's business model could use an upgrade. I bought an international green Vault 200 that just had foam innards before I saw the one with dividers. Pelican's service folks said that despite selling dividers like these separately for other models, they didn't make and had no plans for selling divider sets as a separate product. That stinks. So, I bought another vault with the dividers, some new foam, and am reasonably happy with the dividers in the green box and new foam to cut in the old box. Both are used to capacity. Wouldn't have bothered with the new box just for the dividers otherwise. The dividers are a bit narrow for some lenses, but sufficiently adaptable for most purposes. They are well built with foam that seems likely to last well. Provision for an external lock is a good thing, and the handle is sturdy. Gas vent is a welcome touch.

Not entirely un-happy, it's a low-cost pelican case - I found the dividers are limited and that the lid does not fully seat in more than one location. Not what I expect from Pelican. Still, this case will accomplish what I need - though I would not buy the vault series cases again. As far as cheaper medium duty cases go, the Nanuk I got for my drone was spot on.

If you know Pelican, than you know they are quality. This case is the perfect size for mirrorless cameras, lens, and accessories. I was worried it might be a little small for my usage, but it turned out to be perfect! I am using it for a Canon R6 with attached RF14-35mm 4L. I also have room for extra batteries, charger, and a few other small accessories. The dividers are perfect and can be rearranged to fit your needs. It also has to straps that you can use to secure items in place. The top foam is thick so even though my R6 touches and makes a small indention, it keeps the camera from moving around while not damaging it. I would highly recommend this crushproof hard case.
