Pelican Vault V525WD Case with Padded Dividers (Gray, 25L)

The Pelican V525, like most Pelican cases is built tough. This model came with the padded orange insert dividers and all well portioned for compact / small sized gear. The case is about the size of a carry-on and has a handle and wheels which makes moving the thing very easy on smooth surfaces. The extendable handle is an aquired taste and requires two hands to retract, not practical sometimes when on the move, but functional and not a deal breaker per-se. Locking tabs and lid are smooth and have no issues either. I use mine for audio gear and it is well suited to holding a few mics, cables and mixer, extra batteries and the likes - I suppose you could make room for a DSLR camera or two but nothing too beefy. Despite its standard size, the depth of the case is a bit on the short end for me, but the trade-away is the ability to store on a plane as a carry-on, which I imagine is why it was designed. All in all a great case for a compact equipment load out. The case itself is pretty heavy when empty. Two handles allow for vertical wheel-based movement and side handle provides a suitcase feel.

Same size and inserts as the Pelican Air 1535, but it was on sale at about 1/3 the cost. I love the latches on the Vault as well -- much easier to open and close. The fact that it's not water-tight doesn't matter to me. Pelican just makes quality products.

I have used Pelican cases for years, and the Vault cases are the finest yet. I just used the V525 case and a smaller Vault case on a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The V525 carried three long lenses, a 105mm macro lens, and some smaller accessories. It was perfect for my needs. The smaller Vault case carried my Nikon Z8 and two zoom (14-30mm and 24-120mm). The two Vault cases were the perfect combo.

We are thrilled with this case! It is incredibly lightweight yet impressively sturdy, giving us confidence that it can handle heavy-duty use. I am using it to house two Blackmagic Design Micro G2 cameras along with all their accessories. In fact, we loved it so much that I purchased another one today!

I got this case in hopes of getting my gear organized whether I'm travelling or not. It worked like a charm! Everything that I use with any regularity, except for tripods and lighting equipment, fits into that small case. I did get a third-party mesh lid organizer -- Pelican does not make one for the V525 -- but other than that, it was used as-is. I have my D500, six lenses (500 pf, 80-400, 17-55, 18-140, Sigma 50-150, and Tokina 14-24), the TC14iii, a flash unit, and the various cleaning materials, filters, spare batteries, charging unit, and extra CFExpress cards and card reader all in that one case. The case is rugged and portable. What more could you ask for?

I travel on motorcoaches a lot as a travel photographer. Keeping my gear safe in the bottom of a bus is very important. Moving from state to state in all types of weather can be worrisome with lenses filters. There is so much room in this case and the Pelican padding inserts are really sturdy that I just don't worry any more.
