Tenba Cooper 15 Messenger Bag with Leather Accents (Gray)

While I am not shooting with pro sized gear this bag comfortably holds more than I would have thought and is great when I am shooting off and on throughout the day. Decided to take it to work and folks thought I had a new briefcase not realizing I brought my camera gear in. I have only had it a short time and not been able to use it a lot time but seems well made. I do wish the zipper under the flap was closed on the ends but that has not caused any issues

I needed a bag for upcoming travel that could carry a 16 laptop and my gripped DSLR. This was the ticket. Just big enough to handle it and still comfortably carry. Very nice outer material, nice leather appointments and the interior was just right for carrying my minimalist camera set and do dads for the laptop. Couldn't be happier! Take the laptop out and a few associated odds and ends and in goes the kitchen sink, and you'll still look good doing it!

I do like the bag, It fits my 15 MacBook Pro and the key pcs of camera equipment AND my Mavic Pro but it is pretty big. I wouldnt want to shoulder it through the airport but my plan is to sit it on top of my carry on luggage.

I have had and was a fan of Tenba bags in the past. Just opened this one and am sorely disappointed. The promo represented it would take a DSLR and mounted 70-200mm 2.8 but my R5 and 0-200 II have to be rammed into the bag, stretching it to it's limit. The velcro only flap is inferior to the past velcro and snapping belt covers on previous models. It is just not as a pro camera friendly bag as it's predecessors. Sad. I had intended on purchasing a bag I would keep for years but now am considering returning it.

Ive had tenba bags and cases every since I turned professional 36 years ago. Everything has been extremely well made. I loved this bag in the beginning . Looked sharp, held a good amount of gear, etc..It seems like overnight it took a turn.The shell of the bag as others have mentioned does not hold its shape. Its turned into a lumpy mess and it hasnt been exposed to rain or other extreme. weather. wouldnt recommend.

Even after reading three unsatisfactory reviews I bought this bag when I thought that I would have to wait on the back order of another, the Think Tank Retrospective 30 V.20. As it were both bags arrived before I could cancel the order on the Think Tank bag. No worries, I got to compare them from many different perspectives. Though both had redeeming qualities of their own I considered them both good quality materials, well constructed and very similar in gear storage space. As far as the flimsiness of the padding or even the side walls of these two bags; when you purchase a shoulder bag to carry you want to tote as light as possible and therefore may have to sacrifice some heavy rigidness. I found both to be adequate for general carry, but preferred a couple of the features of the Tenba over the Think Tank. Though the Think Tank is a durable canvas its appearance is a bit military looking, and since I wanted something to pack into a small wedding party I preferred the quieter elegance of the Tenba. If I were to pack it on nature walks in the park or greenways the Think Tank would be my preference. Also the fact that the Tenba had an exterior pocket on each end of the bag while the Think Tank Retro 30 only had a pocket on one end coupled with the fact that the Tenba was a half inch deeper made the top closure just a little easier with a 70 - 200mm f2.8 lens attached. Both bags were able to accommodate my 15 inch MacBook Pro. As far as the short handle on the ThinkTank being a frustrating design, I would say that the top cover Zipper is the hardest to manipulate and the short handle is removable by uncoiling the strap from the surcingle adjustment buckles. I have not had this bag in use long enough to see how well it holds up, But will write another review if it fails in service. I have packed a Nikon D810, w/ /24-120mm f-4 lens attached, a 70-200mm f-2.8 lens, a 50mm f-1.4 lens, two Godox speed lights in their cases, a Gary Fong light diffuser, a collapsible mini soft box, two sets of spare batteries, and a camera sling. There is still room for another medium to short lens over the 50mm prime and both end pockets are empty but can accommodate a 24-70mm f-2.8 lens. My most negative comment about either bag is the lack of closers over the top of the end pockets, if one wanted to use them for smaller items. I kept the Tenba but feel either bag would have done me a good service.

This bag misses out as it cannot adequately accommodate a pro dslr with a mounted 70-200 mm 2.8. Used to be a Tenba fan. I don't know who designed this but it's a fail

This is a high quality bag. I've had many camera bags over the last 30 years, including a large rigid Tenba since 1997. So i know they are built to last. But I wanted a bag that could carry the 3 pro zooms comfortably, and give me access to them without having to put the bag down. This is what the Cooper does. I've had mine for 3-4 years. It holds a pro dslr (with grip) and 3 pro lenses (24-70, 15-30 and 70-200 or 150-450). And a few other things. It's very well thought out. The camera is very easy to get to, from the top zipper. There's enough padding to keep the camera and lenses safe, and no metal objects in unfortunate places (such as buckles) that could damage your gear. I read some of the other reviews and have to disagree, as mine still looks new, despite the beach trips, snow trips, rain, airports, etc. If you get one of these, you should know it's NOT meant to be a rigid bag. It's supposed to partly wrap around your hip, making it more comfortable to carry. The canvas is high quality and also very comfortable to wear. The leather bottom keeps it clean. It has a laptop compartment which i use for paperwork. Putting a loptop in there defeats the purpose of having a soft bag. You might as well get a rigid one and have better impact protection. This is my go-to bag i use most of the time.
