Logan Electric Slide File #1500G For 1500 2 x 2' Slides - Double Latch

Much heavier than expected, but seems to be solidly made. One exception is the very thin, flimsy plastic trays holding the slides, but they are securely nestled in the solid metal trays that seem to protect them well.

They work but are not made as well as the Logan double-decker I bought in the early 80s. Issues: (1) bad riveting of the handle to the lid--the bottoms of the cut-off rivets are too long and poke into the slides, so I was unable to use two of the storage slots--about 50 slides worth; (2) plastic inserts are not yellow anymore, but black---which is fine but some are made very thinly in places---their mold must be lousy; (3) the two paper legends/tables are numbered in the incorrect order (even 40 years ago)---they should start with 1 at the bottom and go up to 5 at the top of the page (1st column) because that is how you put your slides in the tray----I created my own in a Word table because there is no way I can write small enough by hand, anyhow. These seem over-priced but, hey, we are a captive market---us old fogies who still have old 35-mm slides. I just filled up 7 of these double deckers (but don't expect them to quite hold 1500 slides). Oh, I should mention that the issue with rivets did not happen in every one of the 7 that I bought. It was horrible in 2 of them and mild in two more. The others were ok.

the box is well built bot the inside is another story very poor material for dividers, labels provided are cheap to bad it could be a great slides storage device.
