Additionally, when photographing panoramic shots, it is important to mark your no-parallax point to keep the shot consistent. This is when the index stop comes into play. Once the optical center is determined, the stop bar marks the point, so the setup can be recreated. The stop bar has a nylon thumb screw, which locks the bar into place, and is adjustable anywhere on the rail or camera bar.
