A 650nm laser diode is visible up to 3 miles and can check continuity, locate breaks, splices, and damaged connectors in multi or single mode fiber cables.

The ST-VFF5 aids technicians terminating mechanical splices or pre-polished connectors by showing where leaking light is in the cable, an indication of poor fiber cleave or misalignment. Continuous and flashing modes allow you to optimize the laser s performance depending on the demands of your work environment. The device can operate up to 80 hours when in flashing mode and is powered by two AA batteries. Its rugged aluminum design allows it to sustain the wear-and-tear of regular use.
