Palmer PKYLL Overview
Developed for use with consumer devices or professional synths, digital pianos, and small mixers, the Palmer RIVER kyll is a two-channel, line-isolation box designed to eliminate ground-loop hum and buzz when connected between two pieces of equipment. It can also be used to convert unbalanced signals into balanced signals for sending audio over long cable runs without interfering noise. The box can pass either a stereo signal or two independent mono signals without causing any sound alteration or noise.
RIVER kyll features a simple and reliable passive design that requires no battery. It utilizes galvanic-isolation technology via its transformers to preserve the sound quality of your audio channels. Use the ground-lift switch to disconnect the ground connections from the inputs and outputs and further eliminate hum loops.
The two combo XLR-1/4" connectors on the input side can accept both 1/4" jack and XLR connectors, eliminating the need for adapter cables. The outputs are on two 3-pin XLR male connectors. The inputs can accept either balanced or unbalanced line-level signals, while the outputs send balanced line-level signals. Engineered in Germany and built to last, the unit is virtually indestructible thanks to its rugged, aluminum-and-steel casing and reinforced connectors.
