The Sony ECM-55B is an omnidirectional lavalier microphone designed for broadcast, sound reinforcement, and recording applications. The condenser element features a compact profile allowing it to be easily concealed in performance and broadcast situations. The omnidirectional polar pattern provides even frequency and sensitivity response at the direct and off-axis sections of the microphone capsule.
The ECM-55B provides a wide frequency response of 30 Hz to 18 kHz for accurate reproduction of audio signal from a variety of sources. The attached 9.8` cable features a power unit with an XLR 3-pin output. It may be operated via the internal battery or 12 to 48 VDC phantom power. The ECM-55B includes tie clips, a metal mesh windscreen, and a microphone case.
The directivity is optimized to ensure uniform, dependable output, regardless of the direction of the sound source.
The metal mesh windscreen effectively eliminates both wind noise outdoors and pop noise in close-up situations.
