Warm, punchy, and dripping with vintage style, the Mini Mixer from Chandler is a 16x2, rack-mounted summing mixer designed to bring the classic, discrete, class-A circuitry of similar mixers from the 60s and 70s into the modern, digital studio environment. With a fully featured control room section, an integrated talkback module, and a 1/4 TRS input for expanding your mixer with 32-channels or more, the Mini Mixer is ready to handle any workload, from primary mixing and summing to auxiliary routing or adding a little old school warmth to your signals.
The Mini Mixer is packed with 20 discrete amplifiers, 22 custom-wound transformers, dedicated volume and pan knobs for every channel, and flexible I/O including two separate stereo buss outputs and two separate stereo control room outputs. The mixer also has a handy External Input button, which disconnects the mix section from the control room section, allowing for a wide range of interesting and creative possibilities, such as listening to external devices or creating a stereo insert point between the stereo outputs and control room section to listen to your stereo DAW mix from from the control room out.
The TG2 requires the PSU-2 external power supply to function. The PSU-2 is sold separately.
Vintage Lineage
The Mini Mixer traces its lineage back to several types of these amplifiers, developed in the 60s and 70s, that have been modernized for 21st century usage. In staying with this classic heritage, the Mini Mixer uses discrete, class-A circuitry and uncompromising design for a warm and punchy sound that will not disappoint.
- 16 channels with 15 mono XLR inputs and one XLR stereo pair input
- Four XLR stereo pair outputs (two main line outs, two control room outs)
- Transformer balanced I/O
- 20 discrete amplifiers and 22 custom-wound transformers
- Two real analog VU meters with -20 to +3 dB range
- Full talkback module with 1/4 mic input (front panel)
- Standard mixer pan and volume controls
Flexible and Expandable
The Mini Mixer is far more versatile than it may first appear. With two stereo buss outputs, you can use one for headphone amps or both for multiple 2-track outputs. The control room section is also flexible with Mute, Dim (-12 dB drop in control level), and Mono, which helps to check for phase cancellation.
You can select which main output you want to monitor from in the control section, and can also create a stereo insert with the External In button, opening a huge field of creative options. Finally, you can expand your 16-channel Mini Mixer with 32 or more channels through the 1/4 TRS External In jack that allows you to chain as many Mini Mixers together as you want.
