JBL Control 5 Passive 6.5' 2-Way 175W Loudspeakers (Pair, Black)

I bought my first set of Control 5's way back in 1991, using them as my primary monitors on many recordings over the years. Finally, a couple of years ago, the foam surrounds on the woofers gave out and were repaired with a kit, they worked great until a blast from a high-frequency note from a keyboard took out a tweeter, and while this has happened before and was easily replaced, I opted to buy another set. The fact that these monitors have not changed at all in over two decades speaks volumes of their reliability and versatility, not to mention accuracy. I was nearly full analog back in 1991, and have of course transitioned to full digital, and these monitors are an outstanding choice. As with any monitors, the trick is to protect them from accidental damage from stray signals with compression and/or limiters. Great for small to moderate room sizes. I don't have anything bad to say about them, any problems we experienced with them in the studio were caused by the people using them, and eventually, age. Great Product.
