Created with help from award-winning engineer and producer Fab Dupont, the Lauten Audio Atlantis FC-387 is a large-diaphragm, multipattern condenser microphone boasting the sonic flexibility of three different mics as well as selectable polar patterns and adjustable gain, placing high on the list of impressive mics for capturing vocals and instruments with the perfect tone. Simply flip the Voicing switch to toggle between carefully designed frequency responses, which let you go from bright to balanced to warm in an instant.

The Atlantis FC-387 features Class-Acircuitry comprising a low-noise FET circuit and a custom-wound output transformer, and an extra-large capsule with two 31.25mm diaphragms that enable the choice of three polar patterns ”omnidirectional, cardioid, and figure-8. The onboard gain control provides +10 dB of boost, flat, or -10 dB settings for adjusting the relationship between microphone and preamplifier as well as accommodating quiet or loud sources. The Atlantis FC-387 comes with a shockmount and a wooden storage box.

It utilizes dual 31.25mm diaphragms made of ultra-thin plastic material with a layer of gold on one side.

Selectable Polar Patterns

Determine what the Atlantis hears by selecting on of its three polar patterns.

• Cardioid: Captures sound primarily from the front of the microphone, most commonly used for recording vocals with minimal room reflections
• Omnidirectional: Captures sound equally from all sides of the microphone for authentic, in-the-room instrument and vocal recordings
• Figure-8: Captures sound equally from the front and back of the microphone for a more open, natural recording

3-Stage Gain Control

Use the onboard gain switch to achieve the optimal recording level, no matter what preamp the mic is paired with.

• +10 dB: Ideal for use with quiet sound sources and consumer-grade audio interfaces where more character from the microphone itself is desired
• 0 dB: Sets the output of the Atlantis to its default output gain selection
• -10 dB: Useful when more color and saturation from a high-end preamp is desired, or when paired with very loud sounds
