The Royer R-10-MP is a matched pair of passive ribbon microphones designed to deliver smooth, full-range frequency reproduction and high SPL handling for musicians, recording engineers, and live sound mixers in home studios, recording facilities, and live stage applications. Handbuilt in California, each mic features a high maximum SPL of 135 dB at 50 Hz and 160 dB at 1 kHz, and a wide, unhyped frequency response of 30 Hz to 15 kHz. The R-10 utilizes a standard XLR 3-pin output and does not require phantom power.

Its figure-8 polar pattern allows pickup of sounds from the front and back of the mic, while maximizing sound rejection from both sides. This provides a directional focus in front of the microphone and allows room reflections behind the mic to be captured. The 2.5-micron aluminum ribbon element is protected from vibrations via an internal shockmount. A three-layer windscreen system tames plosives, strong bursts of air, and proximity-induced bass buildup. The wiring of the ribbon results in humbucking, which aids in preventing noise produced through electromagnetic interference.

The R-10-MP ships with two microphone holders, two mic socks, and a carrying case.

With Class-A input circuitry and switchable gain boostup to +20 dB in mic mode or up to +8 dB in Hi-Z modethe dBooster2 delivers increased headroom at your mic pre without inducing distortion or noise.

The sturdy, road-ready enclosure houses two locking combo inputs and two balanced XLR mic-level outputs. Even though the dBooster2 runs on 48V phantom power, the phantom power is blocked from the inputs, making it safe to use with all ribbon mics.
