This Azden SGM-250 Kit from provides all the elements needed to securely mount and connect the included SGM-250 shotgun mic to a DSLR/mirrorless camera with a 3.5mm audio input.

The kit includes an XLR to 3.5mm matching-transformer cable specifically designed for plugging the mic into a 3.5mm camera without loss of sound quality.

Also in the kit is a universal shockmount and a furry windscreen to create a run & gun camera rig for indoor/outdoor events including mobile journalism, interviews, and videos.

Azden SGM-250 Shotgun Microphone (Battery, Phantom)

The Azden SGM-250 is a shotgun microphone that can be powered via one AA battery or phantom power for use with DSLR/mirrorless cameras (with an XLR to 3.5mm adapter cable) and professional cameras or recorders (with an XLR cable). Specifically tuned to preserve the natural qualities of a speaking subject, the mic provides video creators with a cost-effective solution for mobile journalism, run & gun, and documentary applications.

The SGM-250 features a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and a two-step low-cut filter. The mic is built with a rugged all-metal barrel and has tightly spaced vertical slots along the tip to provide side and rear rejection. In addition to the dual-power design, a status LED indicator is provided to monitor the AA battery (1.5V) or phantom (48V) power source.

The mic includes a gold-plated XLR output, and comes with a shock-mount holder, a foam windshield, and a zippered carrying case.

The Auray DUSM-1 Universal Shockmount features a four-point suspension to accommodate shotgun and other cylindrical microphones measuring 0.74-0.98" (19-25mm) in diameter. The Auray WSS Series Professional Windshields deliver superior 360° wind protection with acoustic transparency. They are engineered for dramatic reduction of unwanted broadband wind noise and vocal pops with very little high frequency loss, for exceptionally accurate recordings.

This WSS-2012 Professional Windshield has an inside depth of 12cm and is designed for use with many shotgun microphones. It features a specially manufactured open-cell foam matrix surrounded by a layer of 25mm thick simulated rabbit fur. This diffusion technology lowers wind velocity in a controlled air space around the microphone, thereby reducing wind noise without muffling the sound.
