The Q Mic Video Kit from Orangemonkie is a comprehensive package with an electret-condenser microphone and a host of accessories for YouTubers, vloggers, and content creators shooting videos on DSLR/mirrorless cameras or mobile devices with a 3.5mm input jack.
At the heart of the kit is the compact and lightweight microphone, which attaches to your camera s shoe mount or mounts to your smartphone via the included holder. The mic rotates a full 360° and offers a dial that easily selects between three different polar pattern options: omnidirectional, cardioid, and a combination of the two.
A ball-head tripod, a miniature tripod, windscreen, cables to connect to your phone or camera, and a carrying pouch are included.
For Cameras and Mobile Devices with 3.5mm Input Jacks
- The Q Mic Video Kit includes an electret-condenser microphone that s powered by your camera or phone s 3.5mm input jack, so a battery is not required
- The mic mounts to your camera s shoe mount or to your smartphone, via the included mounting holder, and can rotate a full 360° for focused audio capture using the Directional mode this allows the camera operator to do voice-over recording
- A 1/4 -20 thread on the bottom of the mic allows for attachment to tripods and stands
- An included windscreen helps reduce wind and breath noise for clearer audio recordings
3 Different Recording Modes
- Directional: Uses a cardioid pickup pattern to focus audio capture on the subject in front of the mic/camera
- Omni: Uses an omnidirectional pickup pattern to pick up audio from all around the mic, great for scenes where you want to capture more ambient sounds
- ASMR: Combines the cardioid and omnidirectional patterns for use on subtle and delicate sound sources including whispers and cooking demonstrations
