Record dialogue, foley, and sound effects in sterling sound quality with the Sanken CS-1e moisture-resistant short shotgun microphone mounted on your boompole or camera. Its focused reach, low noise, and ultrastrong output yield high-end audio performance in an incredibly lightweight design. With a fast power-up response and no controls to configure, the CS-1e is always ready to go.
The microphone exhibits a supercardioid polar pattern at low and midrange frequencies, and transitions to a lobar pattern at high frequencies, allowing it to attenuate the 90° off-axis points by about 10 dB from 250 Hz to 1 kHz, by 20 dB at 2 kHz, and by over 24 dB at 4 kHz. For independent and major film, television, and location recording gigs, the CS-1e is an ideal space-saving microphone that won t compromise the integrity of your audio and won t get in the way of your shot.
Resists Humidity and Temperature Changes
When working outdoors in humid environments, moisture and condensation can cause many mics to fail. The CS-1e s rugged design and purpose-built components provide optimum resistance to humidity and hostile temperature changes, assuring dependable signal quality in a variety of environmental conditions.
Professional Sound Quality
The CS-1e was built for use by independent videographers and demanding sound recordists alike. Its 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response incorporates a gentle rise above 5 kHz to increase intelligibility, and a natural bass roll-off to mitigate rumble. Its low self-noise of 15 dBAand ultrahigh sensitivity of -24 dB produce signal purity that s ready to be mixed.
Phantom Powered
Thanks to its 3-pin XLR output and compliance with 44 to 52 VDC phantom power, the CS-1e is compatible with a variety of handheld audio recorders, field recorders, and mixer adapters, as well as built-in preamps on many camcorders and cinema cameras.
Ideal for Mounting on a Boompole or Camera
The CS-1e includes two rubber O-rings that expand the microphone s diameter to fit the larger mic holders found on many high-end cameras. Alternatively, use a separately available shockmount such as the Sanken KS-1 to attach the CS-1e to a boompole and prevent the transfer of vibrations to the microphone. The CS-1e s body features a matte black finish to prevent distracting visual reflections.
Windscreen Minimizes Wind Noise
The CS-1e has a urethane windscreen to reduce unwanted wind noise from breezes, fans, heaters, and air conditioners. For maximum reduction of wind noise indoors and outside, consider the Sanken WSJ-1e furry windshield (available separately).
