Designed to provide the basic accessories for shock-mounting a shotgun microphone atop a camera or boompole, this Kit features the Shure VP89S short shotgun microphone, a shoe/pole shockmount, and a short XLR cable with one right-angled and one straight connector.

The kit addresses the needs of videographers who prefer a compact shotgun microphone setup that stays out of the frame while delivering clean, accurate audio quality and low handling noise. With its XLR output and phantom powering, the VP89S mic is well suited for use with professional camcorders, portable audio recorders, and multitrack field recorders.

Shure VP89S Modular Short Shotgun Microphone

Designed as a modular system that supports interchangeable capsules to accommodate a range of indoor and outdoor recording scenarios, the Shure VP89S short shotgun microphone delivers a wide 70° acceptance angle for more off-axis pickup than the medium VP89M and the long VP89L.

Lightweight and rugged, the VP89S provides reliable operation and low susceptibility to hum, GSM, and radio-frequency interference. The phantom-powered preamp features a switchable low-cut filter to attenuate problematic bass frequencies such as rumble and a standard XLR 3-pin output for straightforward connectivity.

Outfitted with a Class-A, discrete, transformerless preamplifier, the VP89S delivers a clean and quick transient response with minimal harmonic/intermodulation distortion and no crossover distortion. Long and medium-sized capsule barrels are available separately to suit various recording needs, rejection angles, and frequency responses.

Auray DUSM-1 Universal Shockmount for Camera Shoes and Boompoles

The Auray DUSM-1 Universal Shockmount features a four-point suspension to accommodate shotgun and other cylindrical microphones measuring 0.74-0.98" (19-25mm) in diameter. The shockmount is easily angled with its rubberized adjustment knob. There is a built-in shoe for camera mounting, and a 3/8" -16 thread connection at the base mounts the shockmount to boompoles and universal handgrips.

Premium Performance 3000 Series cables are made from 24 AWG OFC copper wire that s wrapped with PE insulation and a conductive PVC inner shield. A cotton-yarn inner layer helps reduce electrostatic and microphonic noise. 95% dual-spiral shielding makes the cable resistant to EMI and RFI noise. The Neutrik XX silver connectors provide a high level of connectivity, and all the solder connections are shrink-wrapped for protection.
