It is operated via 48V phantom power, so no batteries are required.

48V Phantom Powered
With its balanced 3-pin XLR output and 48V phantom powering, the Mic-D2 can be used with an array of handheld audio recorders, field recorders, and mixer adapters as well as built-in preamps on many camcorders. The XLR connector s gold-plated contacts improve conductivity to maintain the integrity of your signal.
Ideal for Boompole Mounting
Lightweight and nearly 10" long, the Mic-D2 is well suited for use on a boompole or mic stand. It includes a mic holder with 5/8" and 3/8" options for mounting versatility.
