DPA Microphones 4097 Core Supercardioid Choir Microphone (Black)

The black 4097 Core Supercardioid Choir Microphone from DPA is an 8.3 tall, floor-standing microphone designed to meet house-of-worship applications or anyone looking for an unobtrusive, versatile, and great sounding choir mic for live and broadcast events with choir or ensemble vocal performances.

The mic is an inconspicuous solution that offers a highly directional pickup pattern as well as low self-noise and high sensitivity. It is capable of handling high SPL s, which allows the mic to deliver undistorted natural sound even when the choir sings loudly. In addition, singing into the side (off-axis) of the microphone doesn t make the audio sound worse it just drops the level of the voice, producing a natural balance between the nearest and the furthest singer.

Furthermore, a swivel joint with a built-in shockmount connects the vertical pole and active boom pole, and together, with the gooseneck at the top, allows full control over the microphone placement. The microphone capsule is positioned at the correct angle out of the box, and it can be positioned to sit at a 90° angle above the choir. This ensures that the microphone doesn t interfere with the view from the audience. The gooseneck lets you adjust the specific direction of the microphone capsule.

Finally, the 4097 can be used wireless or wired. The internal cable run at the bottom of the pole terminates to a female MicroDot connector and it s supplied with an XLR adapter for wired operation, or alternatively, use it with a regular wireless transmitter (sold separately) and an optional wireless adapter. This allows for great flexibility on stage especially if you have multiple choir mics in the same space.
