The MK 22 capsule is popular for use as a spot or soloist's microphone, as the mid microphone for M/S, or as a main microphone pair. The matte gray Schoeps CMC 1 L is a miniature Colette Series microphone amplifier offering uncompromising high fidelity in a lightweight and ultracompact form factor for studio recording, broadcast, and live stage applications. Presented as an alternative to the renowned Schoeps CMC 6 amplifier, the CMC 1 L is compatible with all existing MK mic capsules and Colette active accessories (all available separately).

It features a balanced mini LEMO output, compliance with 12V or 48V phantom power, and low current consumption. Its Schoeps RFI Shield provides high immunity from RF interference for a clean, low-noise signal. The CMC 1 L supports the high maximum SPLs tolerated by the various MK mic capsules (available separately). A stand adapter and a 16.4' mini LEMO to XLR 3-pin male adapter cable are supplied with the CMC 1 L.

Schoeps MK 22 Microphone Capsule (Matched Pair, Matte Gray)

The matte gray MK 22 Microphone Capsule from Schoeps comes as a matched pair, and has open cardiod directional pattern, occupying a point on the spectrum between the wide cardioid and classic cardioid patterns. The response is -5 dB at 90° and there is 16 dB suppression of rear-incident sound. It is in essence a variant cardioid which balances a very natural sound quality with a good degree of directionality.

This capsule's sonic transparency and good suppression of rear-incident sound make it a universal problem-solver. This capsule has wide cardioid that offers an alternative when its lower directivity fits the recording situation, e.g., for the first desk of strings or for solo piano.

This capsule has been developed for use as a spot microphone. It unites the strengths of the MK 4 and MK 21 capsules. Its directivity is essentially constant throughout the frequency range. Its inherent low-frequency response is somewhat more pronounced than that of the cardioid, while proximity effect is somewhat less. This capsule is well suited for use as stereo pairs.

Schoeps Hollow Foam Teardrop Popscreen (Gray)

This gray-flocked Hollow Foam Teardrop Popscreen from Schoeps is compatible with all Schoeps Axially addressed microphones. It is used as a shield against mild wind or moving noise on the boom and helps prevent pops when used in close-up speech. It is made of foam, and mounted on a plastic carrier that sits on your mic, allowing the foam to enclose an air volume around the microphone capsule like a windscreen basket, so that the foam does not touch the microphone, which reliably prevents any motion noise. The microphone should be pushed as far as possible into the foam for best results.
