Compliant with P12 and P48 phantom powering, the MiniCMIT can be used with professional and consumer devices.

A fixed 24 dB/octave low-cut filter at 70 Hz ensures that excessive boom noise and rumble will be kept under control. Special construction and filtering effectively inhibits interference from various sources such as radio, TV, and cellular frequencies.

The MiniCMIT s supercardioid/lobar polar pattern yields directional characteristics that smoothly increase at higher frequencies while providing low off-axis coloration for natural sound at all angles. With low self-noise, moderate sensitivity, and high SPL handling, the MiniCMIT delivers sonic performance deserving of premium mic preamps.

Professional Sound Quality

The MiniCMIT features the same frequency response curve as the CMIT 5, allowing either microphone to be used without altering the sound. Thanks to a polar pattern that stays the same in the vertical and horizontal planes, the MiniCMIT produces consistent sound quality at any point of rotation.

With directionality that increases smoothly at high frequencies and a 60 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, the MiniCMIT is optimized for neutral, transparent capture of dialogue, foley, sound effects, and instruments. Considering its low self-noise of 14 dBA and moderate sensitivity of -35 dB, it performs best with a clean, high-gain mic preamp.

RFI Shield

The MiniCMIT utilizes special construction and filtering to provide a high standard of measurable immunity from radio-frequency interference (RFI) caused by sources such as switching power supplies, lighting controls, AM/FM radio, digital radio and TV, cellular phones, and broadband communications.

P12 or P48 Phantom Powered

The MiniCMIT features a balanced 3-pin XLR output, low current draw, and support for P12 and P48 phantom power, making it compatible with a variety of professional and consumer devices such as handheld audio recorders, portable field recorders, mixer adapters, and cinema cameras.

Ideal for Boompole or Camera Mounting

Mount the MiniCMIT directly on a stand or boompole using the supplied mic clip, affix it to a camera with an optional shoe shockmount such as the Rycote InVision Video, or place it in the separately available Rycote INV-6 InVision shockmount to prevent the transfer of vibrations to the microphone when attached to a boompole.

Windscreen Minimizes Wind Noise

The MiniCMIT includes a foam windscreen to reduce unwanted wind noise from breezes, fans, heaters, and air conditioners. Schoeps CCM8 LG Compact Figure-Eight Microphone

The Schoeps CCM8 LG is a miniature figure-eight microphone with a detachable cable. The figure-eight pattern design provides a bidirectional pickup that is almost completely identical at all frequencies. The figure-eight pattern is also useful in M/S stereo capturing. The K 5 LU adapter cable and an SGC miniature stand mount with swivel is also included.

Figure-Eight Polar Pattern

The capsule is a pure pressure-gradient transducer with a figure-8 pattern. The bi-directional pattern is almost completely identical at all frequencies.

Detachable K 5 LU Cable

This version of the CCM8 features a detachable 3-Pin LEMO connector allowing easier microphone interchanging and placement.

The Rycote Stereo Cyclone MS Kit 2 is a windshield system offering acoustically transparent protection for location sound mixers and recordists using a mid-side array of Schoeps MiniCMIT and CCM8 microphones in broadcast TV, film, video, and game audio production. It features an enhanced Connbox design with no straight or parallel surfaces to reduce room tone and resonance. Its Lyre mic suspension and Floating Basket Suspension improve vibration isolation and minimize handling noise.

The 3D-Tex material delivers significant attenuation of wind noise while being easy to clean. Further contributing to the system s low maintenance is the magnetic locking design, which allows one-handed opening and closure. The XLR3F and LEMO inputs match the connectivity of your Schoeps MiniCMIT and CCM8 microphones, and the XLR 5-pin output contributes to effective cable management. Boompole compatibility is offered via a brass 3/8 UNC female thread.

Built by Hand

Each Stereo Cyclone windshield is individually hand-built in the Rycote factory in Stroud. This very specialized manufacturing process is carried out by a highly skilled Rycote technician and takes many hours to complete.

Designed specifically for internal cable routing, isolation, and vibration reduction, each Connbox has been optimized for specific stereo and multichannel microphone configurations. Every wire and connector has been precisely measured to offer maximum performance.

Lyre and Floating Basket Suspension

Rycote uses its industry-leading Lyre microphone suspension to reduce the bulk of shock and handling noise. The Stereo Cyclone also features the Rycote Floating Basket Suspension: an innovative design that prevents natural resonances and vibrations from bypassing the main suspension and radiating from the structure of the basket itself.

The Lyre principle is incorporated into the portions of the suspension that connect directly to the basket the entire structure floats , isolating problematic internal vibrations originating from boompoles and other sources.

Stereo configurations are particularly susceptible to the effects of acoustic re-radiation, since more microphones point at the overall surface of the basket. The incorporation of the Floating Basket Suspension results in a windshield with superb vibration isolation.

Acoustically Transparent Wind Protection

An open-cell structure consisting of curved contours and no straight or parallel surfaces greatly reduces room-tone effects inherent in conventional tubular windshield designs. The physical design shifts the overall bulk to the basket front. The aerodynamically efficient asymmetric basket covered with 3D-Tex material provides enormous benefits in terms of surface turbulence and acoustic impedance, resulting in wind-noise reduction comparable to the combined modular-style windshield/fur cover performance. In truly extreme weather conditions, a Cyclone Windjammer (available separately) can be used to deliver superior wind-noise reduction.
