The Telefunken TF47 multi-pattern tube condenser microphone delivers a deep, round low-end response and a forward midrange to create a unique sonic signature that adds depth and presence to a wide range of instruments and vocalists. The mic is well suited for recording both male and female singers in a variety of genres including soul and R&B as well as rap, rock, and other musical styles where the vocal is prominent in the mix. The TF47 is also commonly used on guitars as well as string and brass instruments including cello and trombone. Percussion instruments, including kick drums (outside the kick) and toms, are also a good match for the mic.
Part of Telefunken s Alchemy Series of large-diaphragm tube condenser mics, the TF47 features an all-brass, dual-sided, k47-style, center-terminated capsule, a new old-stock 5840W vacuum tube, and a custom-made, historically accurate BV8 transformer-all of which combine to give the mic it s distinctive, warm and punchy sound reminiscent of the U47. The frequency-response curve features a gradual midrange presense rise starting near 500 Hz and maxing out at about 3 dB in the 4 kHz range before quickly rolling off-delivering a pleasant top-end articulation that often helps vocals and guitars sit up front and center in the mix.
The TF47 features polar patterns switchable between cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure eight giving it additional flexibility for a wide variety of uses. An M 903 external power supply, connecting cable, stand mount, shockmount, and case are included.
