Neumann KK 105 Overview

The black Neumann KK 105 U is the supercardioid condenser capsule of the famed Neumann KMS105 vocal microphone outfitted with a universal twist-on mechanism that allows you to use it with a wide variety of handheld wireless transmitter mics from Shure, Lectrosonics, and more that support interchangeable capsules. The KK 105 U accurately reproduces vocals with excellent transparency and range, while the supercardioid polar pattern exhibits outstanding rejection of off-axis and rear sound, helping to reduce feedback-especially when sound reinforcement equipment is used.

Note that this version of the capsule is not compatible with Sennheiser handheld transmitters, please use the KK 105 S instead.

Studio-Quality Supercardioid Capsule

With a built-in roll off filter and smooth 80 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, the KK 105 U condenser capsule yields a transparent vocal sound with an airy top-end, providing studio-quality sound for live performances. The supercardioid polar pattern effectively minimizes noise and ambiance at the off-axis sections of the microphone without coloration, helping to focus audio capture tightly on the performer and keep feedback from monitors under control.

Stage-Ready Performance

The capsule can handle SPLs up to 150 dB with a 0.5% total harmonic distortion and up to 155 dB with 3% THD. The integrated shockmount isolates the mic capsule from handling noise, while the built-in pop protector helps to reduce plosive sounds and vocal pops.
