The gray Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Reduced Sensitivity and TA5F Connector for Audio-Technica Transmitters is a subminiature lav microphone designed to deliver clear, full-bodied sound and reliable performance, making it a popular choice among industry professionals in broadcast, TV, theater, film, videography, and more.
Engineered to meet the standards of modern digital wireless microphone systems, the COS-11D is RF shielded to eliminate interference issues and ensure a pristine audio signal. The microphone capsule features a rectangular design that sits vertically, increasing the surface area and allowing this tiny mic to offer a rich, full sound that outperforms many larger models.
The mic s 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response rolls-off extreme low end and provides accurate, transparent audio reproduction with a small presence boost in the 6 kHz area for crisp, intelligible speech. With a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern that picks up sound in a 360° pattern, levels stay consistent, even when the subject turns away from the mic.
A water-resistant mesh screen protects against humidity, perspiration, makeup, bad weather, and other potential on-location issues, while the durable cable is also moisture-resistant and built to stay soft and pliable, even after extended use. This version of the COS-11D terminates in a TA5F connector and is wired for use with Audio-Technica transmitters. A metal windscreen, holder clip, rubber mount, and plastic case are included.
TA5F Connector
Compatible Wireless Transmitters
- Audio-Technica: Works with Audio-Technica bodypack wireless transmitters equipped with a TA5M connector, including the ATW-T101.
- Also works with third-party wireless transmitters that are equipped to supply 3 to 10 VDC through a TA5M connector wired for Audio-Technica compatibility.
Broadcast-Quality Sound and Dependable Performance
Subminiature Mic with a Big Sound
The camera-ready COS-11D features a subminiature capsule that enables the microphone to be inconspicuous and easily disguised in clothing or costumes. The unique vertical diaphragm design offers a clear and natural sound optimized for the human voice.
More Headroom for Loud Speech and Vocals
This version of the mic features a -9 dB reduced sensitivity setting to accommodate louder speech and vocals at levels up to 132 dB SPL.
Omnidirectional Polar Pattern
The forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all around the mic and provides a consistent frequency response, even for off-axis sound. This helps to supply clear, intelligible speech and vocals, even when the talent isn t speaking directly toward the microphone.
Tough, Water-Resistant Construction for Indoor/Outdoor Locations
The water-resistant front mesh screen provides reliable protection from perspiration and moisture, making the mic a solid performer in all kinds of weather. The rugged cable is also built to resist moisture and handling noise and stay pliable, even after repeated uses.
