Lectrosonics DSSM Overview

The Lectrosonics DSSM Water-Resistant Micro Digital Wireless Transmitter (470 to 607 MHz) with Charger includes a DSSM transmitter and a CHSDSSM 4-bay, drop-in charging station. To operate, the charger requires the DCR5/9AU AC/DC power supply (available separately).

Ideal for theater, TV, film, sports, and broadcast applications where concealment is desired and water-resistance is required, the 470 to 607 MHz is the company s smallest transmitter with an IP57 rating and dock-charging capability. The DSSM offers an extensive feature set packed into an exceptionally rugged and lightweight, solid-aluminum housing, and is compatible with all Lectrosonics digital receivers, including the DSR, DSR4, DSQD, DCR822, M2Ra, and DCHR. The servo bias input circuitry can accommodate an electret lavalier mic, a dynamic mic, or a line-level input via the locking, 3-pin LEMO connector.

The DSSM includes specially developed, high-efficiency circuitry for extended operating time on the rechargeable LB-50 battery. RF power selections are offered at 10 and 35mW (D2 mode) and at 2mW (Special High Density/HDM mode). The membrane switch panel and OLED display enable quick access to all adjustments and settings.

Built for the Most Demanding Work Environments

• The IP57 rating indicates that the unit is protected against dust ingress while also withstanding water immersion up to 3.2 for 30+ minutes all while allowing for quick battery swap-outs
• The housing is constructed of machined aluminum alloy treated in the conductive, super hard electroless nickel ebENi finish
• The audio-input jack is a 3-pin LEMO connector with a threaded collar adding additional ruggedness

Dock-Charging Capability

• The optional CHSDSSM battery charging station provides a convenient and organized way of recharging any mix of four DSSM transmitters and/or four LB-50 lithium-ion batteries
• Full charging of battery takes 3 hours
• The DSSM transmitter can operate up to 6 hours on a full charge
• For larger systems with numerous batteries in regular use, the CHSDSSM charger may be daisy-chained to 3 additional CHSDSSM chargers using a single DCR5/9AU AC/DC power supply (available separately) for a total of 16 LB50s and/or DSSMs charging at once

Versatile Input Section with Limiter

• The input section features the unique Lectrosonics servo bias input circuitry accepts mic- or line-level signals with a wide range of gain adjustment in 1 dB steps
• Accurate indications on the display allow precise gain adjustments to be made for the maximum signal to noise ratio and minimum distortion
• A DSP-controlled analog audio limiter is employed ahead of the first mic preamp to protect the entire audio chain from overload. The limiter has a range of more than 30 dB for excellent overload protection, and a dual-release envelope that makes the limiter acoustically transparent while maintaining low distortion of brief transients and longer duration peaks
• Selectable, low-frequency roll-off at 35, 50, 70, 100, 120, and 150 Hz

Clear and Simple Controls

• The membrane switch panel and OLED display enable access to all adjustments and settings. The menu structure is easy to navigate
• Battery status is indicated by a bi-color LED that is green with a fresh battery, then turns to red as the battery runs down, and finally starts blinking red when there are only a few minutes of runtime remaining

AES 256-bit CTR Encryption

• The DSSM offers AES 256-bit CTR encryption with four key policies including Universal, Shared, Standard, and Volatile. This covers a wide variety of use cases, including government, corporate, and sports coverage

Remote Control via LectroRM App

• LectroRM (available separately) is a third-party mobile application for iOS and Android smartphone operating systems. Its purpose is to make changes to the settings on the DSSM transmitter by delivering encoded audio tones to the microphone attached to the transmitter
• When the tone enters the transmitter, it is decoded to make a change toa variety of different settings such as input gain, frequency, and more

Lectrosonics CHSDSSM 4-Bay Charging Station for DSSM Transmitters and Batteries

Ideal in larger systems with numerous batteries in regular use, the Lectrosonics CHSDSSM is a four-bay charging station that provides a convenient and organized way of recharging any mix of four DSSM transmitters and/or four LB-50 lithium-ion batteries. Each CHSDSSM module may be daisy-chained to 3 additional CHSDSSM modules using a single DCR5/9AU AC/DC power supply (not included) for a total of 16 LB50s and/or DSSMs charging at once.

The CHSDSSM charging station features an individual LED on each charging bay. Red indicates the battery is charging and green indicates the battery is completely charged. Each charging module is reverse-polarity protected and individually fused (10A one-time fuse). Battery charging time is 3 hours.
