BOSS PH-3 Overview
Capable of implementations both subtle and bizarre, the PH-3 from BOSS is a phase shifter pedal intended for electric guitar, electric bass, or any other instrument with an unbalanced 1/4" output. It features controls over its rate, depth, and resonance, as well as a selector that chooses among seven different types of phase staging, including a step setting useful for effecting a synthetic, computerized sound.
Unidirectional sweeps are possible using rise and fall modes, and the rate of each phase setting can be tapped into tempo with the step of your foot. If you seek variable phasing control over the pedal s rate, the PH-3 features an expression/control input jack with a complementing polarity switch. Just plug a Roland EV-5 expression pedal into this jack and you can rock the phase-sweeps however you see fit.
