Dreadbox PSYCLOP Overview
Control a wide range of signals all from one pedal with the Psyclop Signal Multi Tool from Dreadbox, a versatile addition to any pedalboard that lets you control FX chain loops, manage signals, and convert expression signals to CV. Ideal for guitars or synths, Psyclop can act as a dry/wet control, an attenuator or booster, and much more.
Compact and multifunctional, Psyclop fits into any pedalboard. Dedicated output gain and input attenuation controls allow you to precisely control your signal drive for high-gain tones in low-volume spaces, acting as a dedicated attenuation pedal. A third knob allows you to control CV output attenuation. A switch provides either a positive or a negative FX loop phase, useful when clean and FX signals are mixed and have different phases. Finally, the Psyclop pedal sports true bypass using mechanical relays, ensuring a clean, pure tone free of coloration and signal loss.
Versatile I/O
The Pysclop pedal features comprehensive I/O for managing a range of signals, including:
- 1/4" Hi-Z input and output jacks
- 1/4" FX loop send and return jacks
- A 1/4" TRS input for expression pedals, allowing conversion of expression to CV
- 3.5mm CV I/O, extremely useful for controlling vintage analog gear and Eurorack modules
CV I/O
The CV connections allow you to control gear using CV with the Psyclop pedal. When nothing is connected to the CV In jack, the CV Out jack will output 0 to 5V, depending on the attenuation and the expression pedal amount. When you send CV to the CV In, the CV Out will be attenuated from the expression pedal.
FX Loop Phase
Psyclop features an FX Loop Phase switch. This allows you to modify the phase of the FX loop signal so that it matches your dry signal when being mixed together.
If the two signals have opposite phases, such as a positive FX loop signal and a negative dry signal, this can cause the signals to cancel out, resulting in a loss of signal integrity. With the switch, you can ensure that your signals always have properly matched phases.
