Electro-Harmonix ANDYS Overview
Delivering the classic, shimmering guitar tone of Andy Summers long coveted by guitarists around the world, the Andy Summers Walking on the Moon Pedal from Electro-Harmonix is an all-analog flanger pedal with loads of depth and character. With three simple-yet-intuitive controls-Rate, Range, and Color-you can go from a hint of chorus to wild waves of modulation and even fixed-filter effects with ease.
The Filter Matrix switch disengages the LFO from the modulation circuit, allowing you to freeze the flanger effect for chime or metallic overtones without traditional modulation movement. Two dedicated outputs are provided, one for a flanged signal and one for a dry, unprocessed signal, for added routing versatility. The pedal also includes a true bypass circuit for a pure, uncolored bypass signal free from tone suck. Finally, the pedal chassis is adorned with custom graphics and Andy's signature for a stylish look. This pedal includes a 9V power adapter and a Walking on the Moon poster with art by Laura Josephson.
A Pioneer of Guitar Modulation Effects
Celebrating the classic, shimmering flanger sounds of Andy Summers, the EHX Walking on the Moon Flanger pedal is a tribute to the tones Andy employed while carving his niche in the early days of playing with the Police. Liquid flange effects that hint toward chorus with extra depth and nuance make Andy's sound one of the most coveted in all of the guitar universe.
Powerful, Intuitive Controls
The WOTM pedal features three simple yet powerful control knobs for controlling your modulation effect:
- Color: This sets the intensity of the flanger effect and becomes more pronounced as you turn clockwise, producing the classic whoosh effect flangers are famous for. Turning this knob to the maximum can result in self-oscillation.
- Range: This allows you to set the lower limit of the flanger sweep. Turning clockwise sweeps the flanger further into the bass region, while counterclockwise creates a narrow sweep effect.
- Rate: This knob controls the speed of flanger modulation. Clockwise increases speed, while counterclockwise slows the flanger sweep down, and very high settings clockwise can product a vibrato-like effect.
Filter Matrix
When this switch is set to the right position, the modulation waveform (LFO) is disconnected from the flanger circuit, freezing the flanger and creating a matrix of filters. Turn the Range knob to change the filters' position, and use Color to adjust the depth of filtering.
The Rate knob has no effect when set to Filter Matrix mode. Proper manipulation of the Range and Color knobs will enable you to simulate the sound of chimes being played in unison with your instrument, as well as many other effects.
Flexible Power Options
The WOTM pedal can be powered either from a standard 9V power adapter (included) or a 9V battery (not included). Choose the option that works best for your setup, whether it be on a pedalboard or self-powered and standing alone.
